Aircraft Engine Chemical Cleaning Facility
Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Tinker Air Force Base required a new state-of-the-art, fully-automated aircraft engine chemical cleaning facility. Ross Group delivered this project within an existing, occupied building to replace an existing 30-year-old facility currently used to clean engine components. Because this facility was occupied throughout construction, the project team phased work to allow large portions of the facility to remain operational throughout the entire project.
The systems required for this 9,000 sq. ft. facility include process ventilation, roof-mounted makeup air, reverse osmosis water makeup, connections to industrial waste sewer system, and fire detection, alarms, and fire protection systems. Other aspects to this project include constructing a two-story electrical equipment and control room facility, fire-rated enclosures, structural foundations, and demolition of the existing chemical cleaning facility. Ross Group carefully managed environmental issues from the industrial parts cleaning processes and potential contaminated soil associated with the work.
