Underwing Vibration Testing System
California
Ross Group Engineering designed the reaction mass for an underwing vibration testing system installed in a test laboratory for a confidential client. The underwing reaction mass supports and resists the forces imparted by the shaker system mounted to the reaction mass. The vibration equipment simulates the dynamic forces that impact items mounted beneath the wings of various military aircraft. The testing and equipment configuration requires a sophisticated, complex reaction mass and foundation system to support the unique vibration test equipment and provide appropriate isolation from other sensitive equipment and foundations in the laboratory. The unusual shape of the reaction mass results in very different foundation loadings, requiring a special arrangement of isolation materials for best performance.
